To: Patients with Parkinsonism and movement disorders, D.B.S. is now available in Iraq
All patients with Parkinsonism and movement disorders can be treated now in Iraq by Deep Brain Stimulation ( DBS ) wich is a new technique of functional neurosurgery involving the stereotactic localization of a point in the barain , after that electrical stimulation will be applied by an elctrode which is introduced in an awake patient through a burr-hole then connected to a subcutaneously implanted device.
 
All Iraqi patients can be referred now to the Neurosciences Hospital in Baghdad on Monday to be seen in the movement disorders clinic.
